BETHANY, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's soccer team came away with a 1-1 draw against Southern Nazarene on Saturday.
All of the game's scoring came in the span of 10 seconds in the first half. The Tigers struck first on a goal from
Allison Reece following a cross by
Reese Brown in the 27th minute. It was Reece's third goal of the year and Brown's second assist.
SNU responded on its first possession after the ensuing kickoff with a goal to equalize.
Neither team was able to muster a shot on frame the rest of the first half.
In the second half, the Tigers held SNU to no shots on target until the final minute when the Crimson Storm had looks on goal in the 88th minute and then again in the 90th. Ouachita had just one shot on frame in the second half coming in the 57th minute.
SNU held a 21-10 lead in total shots and a 5-3 edge in shots on goal.
The Tigers remain in first place in the Great American Conference at 4-4-2 overall and 3-0-2 in league games. Up next is a road game against Harding on Wednesday, October 16. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m.
