ARKADELPHIA – The No. 20 Ouachita men's swimming and diving team picked up its second ranked dual meet win of the season after downing No. 22 Delta State 136-107 Friday afternoon in Waggoner Pool.
The Tigersharks won eight of the 13 total events.
Zsombor Bujdoso took first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:07.11.
Daniel Meszaros picked up two wins in the meet. He won the 200 Freestyle by almost four seconds with a time of 1:38.71 and took first in the 500 Freestyle by almost five seconds with a time of 4:40.60.
Vince Pal picked up a win in the 100 Butterfly by just 0.01 seconds with a time of 51.58.
Sam Ragsdell placed first in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 46.36.
Miles Schulze earned a win in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 57.51.
The 200 Medley Relay squad of Ragsdell, Schulze, Daivd Ware, and
Rafael Bustillo won the event with a time of 1:33.26.
The 400 Freestyle Relay squad of Meszaros,
Michael Higgens, Pal, and
James Savarese won the event by three seconds with a time of 3:05.44.
In total, the Tigershark men recorded 13 top three finishes and 29 top five finishes to earn the 136-107 win over No. 22 Delta State.
This is the second dual meet win over a ranked opponent, as the Tigersharks defeated now No. 13 Oklahoma Christian 156-81 this past Friday. This is also the third ranked opponent the Tigers have come out on top on after taking first place at the All-Arkansas Invitational over No. 12 Henderson State in September.
The Tigersharks will be back in action next weekend taking on the Bulldogs of Truman State University in a two-day meet on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 in Kirksville, Missouri.
