KIRKSVILLE, Missouri – The Ouachita men's swimming and diving team won every event en route to a 125-42 win over the Bulldogs of Truman State University Friday night on day one of the two-day meet.
As mentioned, the Tigersharks took first place in all nine events. An 11-year-old record was taken down in tonight's meet as well.
Daniel Meszaros won the 200 Freestyle with a program record-setting time of 1:37.39. The record was previously set by Marcus Schlesinger in 2013.
Zsombor Bujdoso took first in the 200 IM by nearly four seconds with a time of 1:51.70.
Michael Higgens won the 100 Backstroke with a time of 52.32.
Anthony Paculba won the 1000 Freestyle by almost eight seconds with a time of 9:37.61.
Vince Pal finished first in the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:53.17, winning by five seconds.
Sam Ragsdell placed first in the 50 Free with a time of 21.08, winning by 0.02 seconds.
Miles Schulze won the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 56.79.
The 200 Freestyle Relay squad of Meszaros,
Rafael Bustillo, Pal, and Ragsdell won the event with a time of 1:21.81.
The 400 Medley Relay squad of Ragsdell, Schulze, Higgens, and Meszaros won the event with a time of 3:23.67.
In total, the Tigersharks racked up 20 top three finishes across the nine events to help earn the 125-41 win. This is the third dual meet win of the season for Ouachita.
The Tigersharks will look to repeat their success tomorrow, October 26 in the second day of the two-day meet against the Bulldogs. Saturday's meet is set to start at 10 a.m.
