TIGERS UP TO NO. 3

WACO, Texas – The Ouachita Baptist University football team is up two spots to No. 3 in the latest American Football Coaches Association top 25 poll.

The Tigers received two first-place in this week's poll and have now matched a program-best national ranking of No. 3 last accomplished in the 2022 season. Ouachita has now been ranked nationally by the AFCA in 72 of the last 73 polls.

Ouachita is 8-0 and one of six remaining unbeaten teams in NCAA Division II following its 38-7 road win over Arkansas Tech this past Saturday.

D2Football.com gave Ouachita a two-spot bump to No. 5 in its top 25 poll this week.

The Tigers are one of three teams from the Great American Conference recognized in this week's national rankings. Harding (7-1) is No. 6 in the latest AFCA poll and No. 7 by D2Football.com. Southern Arkansas (6-2) is receiving votes this week in the AFCA poll after falling out from No. 22/25 after losing to Harding 49-17 this past Saturday in Searcy.

The NCAA will release its first regional rankings later on Monday. This week's release will include an alphabetical list of teams in consideration for postseason play. Ouachita is seeking its sixth playoff berth this year.

The No. 3 Tigers are set for their final home game of the regular season this Thursday, October 31 against Southern Nazarene. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. at Cliff Harris Stadium. It is Ouachita's third Thursday night game of the season.
