SEARCY, Arkansas – The Ouachita women's basketball team dropped a Great American Conference road game to Harding on Thursday night by a final score of 72-51.
Harding started with a 16-0 run in the first seven minutes of the first period to build a lead that proved to be too much to overcome.
The Bisons led 25-5 at the end of the first period and maintained at least a 15-point lead in the second period, and ended up on top by 20 at the halftime break.
Ouachita dominated the third period 22-13 and cut the deficit down to 10 points midway through the frame. Harding responded by controlling the fourth period at 22-12 to prevent Ouachita from making a comeback.
Madeleine Tipton accounted for more than half of Ouachita's offense with a season-high 27 points.
Grayson Fairless added eight points in 21 minutes off the bench.
The Tigers have one more game before Christmas, hosting Arkansas-Fort Smith for a non-conference game this Saturday, December 21. Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena.
