ADA, Oklahoma – East Central outscored Ouachita by 16 in the fourth period to earn a 61-48 win on Saturday afternoon in at the Kerr Center.
Ouachita (9-15, 7-13 GAC) had a 10-point lead midway the third period, but went cold getting only six points throughout the remainder of the third and six points total in the fourth.
The first point was back-and-forth, but Ouachita was able to earn its first double-digit lead in the final two minutes of the second period and eventually held an eight-point lead of 30-22 at the halftime break.
Ouachita finished the game shooting 39 percent from the field (16-for-41) and 42 percent on three-pointers (5-for-12). ECU (8-16, 4-16 GAC) finished at 45 percent overall (23-for-51) and 63 percent on three-pointers (12-for-19).
Laney Mears was the only Ouachita player to reach double-digits in scoring with 15 points.
Samantha Watson added nine points off the bench.
The Tigers are back at home for the final time this season this Thursday, February 29 against Southern Arkansas. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. inside Bill Vining Arena. The Senior Day ceremony will be immediately after the game.
