MEN TAKE DOWN DELTA STATE IN SHOOTOUT

CLEVELAND, Mississippi – The Tigershark men picked up two wins against Delta State in meets on Friday and Saturday in the Statesman Shootout.

The format for these meets was different from a normal dual meet. First, swimmers raced in the prelims. From there, the top swimmer from each school moved onto the "A" final in a head-to-head race. Then the next four swimmers raced in the "B" Final and the next six raced in the "C" Final.

Meet One – Friday
The Tigersharks had two "A" Final event winners, as Zsombor Bujdoso won the 200 IM with a time of 1:52.18, which ranks as a top eight time in the NSISC from last season.

Tyler Andruss won the 200 Butterfly with a time of 1:52.69, which also ranks in the top eight in the NSISC from last season.

The Tigers took down the Statesmen by the score of 482-433 on day one of the shootout.

Meet Two – Saturday
More Tigersharks found themselves at the top of the "A" Finals on the second day of the shootout. Bujdoso won two events, taking first in the 400 IM with a time of 4:00.82, winning by a margin of five seconds. The Hungarian also won the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:03.74. Both times ranked in the top eight for the NSISC.

Andruss picked up another win, this time in the 500 Free with a time of 4:35.33.

Carson Powers earned an NCAA qualifying score in the 3-meter diving (11 dives) with 460 points. If Powers can reach the 6-dive qualifying score at the NSISC Conference Championships, he will earn a trip to nationals in Ohio.

Ouachita took down Delta State by the unofficial score of 407.5-374.5 in the second meet and have now taken down the Statesmen three times this season.
