SHAWNEE, Oklahoma – The Ouachita women's basketball team wrapped up the 2023-24 season with a 73-56 loss to Harding on Thursday in the first round of the Great American Conference Championship Tournament at FireLake Arena.
The 17th-ranked Bisons (25-4) scored first and held a lead for the entirety of the game, getting up by much as 19.
The Tigers (11-16) made a run in the third period that stretched into the fourth period to cut the deficit down to four points, but the Bisons surged late for the comfortable win.
Ouachita's run was 13-0, keeping the Bisons scoreless for the final 4:57 of the third period.
Madeleine Tipton made a jumper with 9:53 remaining in the fourth period to trim the deficit down to four, but the Tigers were held without a made field goal for the remainder of the game, scoring only on free throws.
Tipton finished as the game's leading scorer with 23 points.
Grayson Fairless added 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season and eighth of her career.
