ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University football team is set for its second Thursday night game of the season, this time hitting the road for the longest road trip of the regular season to face Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. this Thursday, September 12 at Ranger Field in Alva. The game can be heard on the Ouachita Football Radio Network originating at KARN-FM 102.9 in Little Rock and available on 10 different stations throughout the state of Arkansas. A list of stations can be found at

The Tigers are coming off a 42-3 win over Southwestern Oklahoma State last Thursday night at home in the 2024 season opener. Following that win, the American Football Coaches Association bumped up the Tigers one spot to No. 18 in this week's top 25 national rankings for NCAA Division II. D2Football.com kept Ouachita at No. 17.
This Thursday night, Ouachita seeks its 12th consecutive victory over NWOSU. The Tigers have never lost to the Rangers in the Great American Conference era. Ouachita is 12-3 all-time against NWOSU. Last year, Ouachita beat NWOSU 66-0 at home in week two.
NWOSU opened its season last Thursday night with a 34-7 road loss to Arkansas-Monticello.
Ouachita vs. NWOSU is the only GAC matchup being played on Thursday night this week. The other five matchups in the league will be played on Saturday.
