CELEVELAND, Mississippi – The No. 14 Ouachita men's swimming and diving team earned a 367-311 win on the road over No. 15 Delta State Friday on day one of the Statesmen Shootout.
 
The Tigersharks picked up three A-Final wins and five B-Final wins to help earn the win in the top 15 matchup.
 
Daniel Meszaros won the A-Final in the 200 Freestyle by more than three seconds with a time of 1:35.99, making the NCAA B-Cut standard. Meszaros also placed second in the A-Final of the 1650 Freestyle.
 
Miles Schulze won the A-Final in the 100 Breaststroke by 0.09 seconds with a time of 54.97, an NCAA B-Cut time.
 
Zsombor Bujdoso won the B-Final in the 100 Breaststroke by half of a second with a time of 57.32. Bujdoso also placed third in the A-Final of the 200 IM.
 
Rafael Bustillo won the B-Final in the 50 Freestyle by just 0.03 seconds with a time of 21.23.
 
Caleb Guthrie won the B-Final in the 1650 Freestyle by 17 seconds with a time of 17:04.02.
 
Ethan Sparks on the B-Final in the 100 Backstroke by over a second with a time of 51.71, which would have put him fourth in the A-Final.
 
David Ware won the B-Final in the 200 IM by more than two seconds with a time of 1:51.76, which would have placed fourth in the A-Final. Ware also placed third in the A-Final of the 100 Backstroke.
 
The 200 Medley Relay squad of Sparks, Schulze, Ware, and Meszaros won the event A-Final with a time of 1:30.00.
 
Gabriel Palamino qualified for the NCAA National Diving Qualifiers with a score of 480.98 points in the 1-Meter Dive, placing second in the event.
 
The Tigersharks will look to keep their streak going into the final dual meet of the season tomorrow on day two of the Statesmen Shootout.
