HAPGOOD EARNS GAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK FOLLOWING THIRD STRAIGHT SHUTOUT

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Ouachita sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Hapgood was named the Great American Conference Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week after posting her third consecutive shutout in Saturday's 1-0 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Hapgood left the scoreboard spotless as the Tigers (4-4-3, 3-0-2 GAC) remain undefeated through five GAC matches. The Edmond, Okla. native tallied 12 total saves across two matches last week to continue Ouachita's remarkable stretch of shutouts. Hapgood ranks fifth in the GAC with 40 saves through 11 matches this season. As the cornerstone behind Ouachita's defensive identity, her recent performances have propelled the reigning GAC champion Tigers right back into the thick of the standings race.

Ouachita Head Coach Kevin Wright praised Hapgood's progression in showing more confidence off the line. Wright mentioned what began as flashes of potential has developed into a full-fledged command of the goal by coming through with key saves in the most critical moments. Hapgood's elevated effort has sparked Ouachita's surging soccer team that intends to carry the momentum down the home stretch.

The Tigers look to continue their unbeaten run in GAC play and return to action with a road match at East Central on Wednesday in Ada, Okla.
