ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's swimming & diving team came away with a commanding victory over Oklahoma Christian on Wednesday night in the first duel of the season.
Final score was 146.5 to 90.5 in favor of the Tigersharks, who extend their duel winning streak to 14 including last year's 10-0 mark in duels and the last three duels of the 2023-24 season.
The action started with a first and second place finish in the 400-yard medley relay, where the Tigersharks knocked down the OCU A-relay to third. Ouachita's A relay team included
Mikhail Lymar,
Lucas Cagle,
David Ware, and
Ian Redman Aguilar. The Tigershark B relay team included
Stefan Duca,
Anthony Paculba, Michael Higgins, and
James Savarese.
Senior
Sam Ragsdell led the way with wins in the 50 and 100-yard freestyle events, also being a member of the winning relay in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
Other individual first-place finishers on the night were freshman
Stefan Duca (200 freestyle), junior
Carson Powers (three-meter dive), senior
Tyler Andruss (500 freestyle),
Anthony Paculba (200 backstroke) and
Gabriel Palomino (one-meter dive). Palomino posted an NCAA qualifier score of 318.05 in the one-meter dive.
The Tigersharks are back on the road this Friday and Saturday in Springfield, Missouri against the Bears of Missouri State.
