RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – Ouachita junior midfielder Madi Vana was selected to the 2025 Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) Women's Soccer All-Central Region Second Team, solidifying a breakout season for the Tigers' top attacker.
Vana adds the regional recognition to an impressive list of accolades after being named the Great American Conference Midfielder of the Year earlier in November. The Celina, Texas native ignited Ouachita's late-season surge with a phenomenal stretch of three goals during the Tigers' critical four-match unbeaten run to clinch a berth in the GAC Tournament.
With Ouachita protecting a 1-0 lead against Southwestern Oklahoma State in the GAC Tournament semifinals, Vana pounced on a loose ball inside the box and buried the insurance goal in the 66th minute to stamp a third consecutive trip to the championship match. Vana finished her junior campaign as Ouachita's leading scorer with seven goals, including four game-winners, which were both tied for the second-most in the GAC. Her knack for clutch strikes helped the Tigers stay in postseason contention down the home stretch.
Vana was also selected to the Academic All-District Team, highlighting nine combined players between the Ouachita men's and women's soccer teams who earned the academic achievement recognition.
