TIGERS REACH CENTURY MARK FOR THIRD STRAIGHT GAME

ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita men's basketball team never trailed and reached the century mark for a third straight game in Tuesday's 108-58 blowout win over Champion Christian inside Bill Vining Arena.

The Tigers exploded for 57 first-half points, which was one point less than Champion Christian scored in the entire game. Ouachita senior Devon Hancock dished assists on the first two possessions, leading junior forward Christian Parks on a cut to the basket for the open layup. After Hancock secured the rebound on the defensive end, the veteran guard led the fastbreak and found freshman guard Jaxon Conley open for a transition 3-pointer.

The Tigers controlled the tempo in a 50-point victory defined by constant defensive pressure and crashing the boards. Ouachita limited Champion Christian to shooting just 20-for-63 (32%) from the floor, deploying a defense that ranks inside the top 10 in Division II in scoring defense and opponent field goal percentage.

Ouachita shot from distance and put on a showcase of limitless range as the Tigers buried eight of their first 11 threes. By the time Hancock turned a second chance possession into a three from the top of the key with 30 seconds left in the first half, the Tigers had essentially sealed the win. Ouachita carried a 19-0 first-half edge in points off turnovers into the locker room. Hancock led the Tigers with 19 points, finishing 7-of-16 from the floor and 4-of-8 from deep. The Dallas native grabbed 11 boards for his first double-double performance of the season.

Ouachita held a 35-3 edge in points off turnovers, relentlessly turning defense into offense during the second-half barrage. The Tigers blitzed to an 18-0 scoring run in the second half to set a season-high in total points.

Ouachita outscored Champion Christian 60-10 inside the paint as Parks registered his second double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds with putback dunks and second-chance finishes as he piled up nine offensive boards.

Ouachita's bench contributed 51 points, highlighted by Ryder McConnell who chipped in 15 points on 5-for-8 shooting from the floor. The Tigers stretched the lead to its largest at 52 points on Kade Caldwell's putback layup with 28 seconds remaining. The Tigers dominated the glass 64–31 and racked up 60 points in the paint while holding Champion Christian to only eight second-half field goals.

Ouachita hits the road after Thanksgiving to face Delta State on Saturday in Cleveland, Mississippi.
