RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Ouachita volleyball players
Riley Braziel and
Courtney Hanson have been selected as Great American Conference players of the week.
Braziel picks up her first weekly award this season as the league's best offensive player. Hanson has been named the league's setter of the week for the fourth consecutive time this season and 13th of her career.
The honors come after Ouachita posted its sixth consecutive undefeated week. In their only contest last week, the Tigers beat Southern Arkansas in four sets at home Thursday night to improve to 22-3 overall and 12-0 in league matches.
In that win, Braziel led the offensive attack with a match-high 16 kills and a .333 hitting percentage. The senior from Decatur, Texas also had 15 digs for her seventh double-double of the season. Hanson totaled 45 assists and 12 digs in the win. The senior from Arlington, Texas now has 16 double-doubles this season.
Ouachita goes for its 13th straight victory on Tuesday with a road trip to take on second-place Harding. First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Searcy. That match will feature all three reigning GAC players of the week, also including Harding's Maddie Burrough, who won defensive honors.
