Bethany, Okla. — Freshman midfielder Philip Bölk scored the lone goal with a header to give the Ouachita men's soccer team its third straight victory Saturday with a 1-0 shutout win at Southern Nazarene.
Ouachita took an early advantage in the 16th minute after senior Alexis Murillo sent a crosser inside the box and Bölk rose up to finish a header through the net for the second goal of his freshman campaign, which proved to be enough. Bölk delivered the winner in last Saturday's victory over Newman on Alumni Day at Kluck Field.
Senior goalkeeper Dillon Staal secured four saves to earn his tenth career shutout, holding opponents scoreless in his last three matches in a Ouachita uniform. The Tigers (6-9-3, 4-7-1 GAC) absorbed heavy pressure throughout the season finale. Despite a 23-4 edge for Southern Nazarene (6-8-3, 4-6-2) in total shots, plus an 11-1 advantage in corner kicks, the Crimson Storm could not break through the brick wall of Staal.
Ouachita closed the regular season on a season-best three-match winning streak and earned its first win over Southern Nazarene since 2021. The road win capped a strong finish for a Tigers squad that found its rhythm late with four wins over its last five matches of the 2025 season.
