ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's soccer team battled Rogers State to a 1-1 draw on Thursday at home.
After a scoreless first half, the Tigers struck first with a goal from
Reese Brown in the 54th minute that was set up by a free kick from
Isabella Savattere 15 yards outside the box that initially resulted a shot attempt on goal by
Ava Dunagan. The RSU goalkeeper got a hand on Dunagan's shot, but the deflection went straight to Brown in front of an empty net.
It was Brown's first goal of the season and eighth of her career. Savattere now has two assists this season and seven for her career. Dunagan's assist was her first of 2025 and second of her career.
The Hillcats struck late to equalize, scoring on a corner kick in 82nd minute.
RSU finished with a slight edge in total shots at 15-13. The Tigers led 5-4 in shots on goal.
The Tigers are on the road for their next three matches starting with a trip to Memphis, Tennessee this Saturday, September 13 to take on Christian Brothers.
