MONTICELLO, Arkansas – The Ouachita volleyball team kept its successful start to the 2025 season going on Tuesday night with a sweep over Arkansas-Monticello on the road in Great American Conference action.
The Tigers have been road warriors in the first month of the 2025 campaign. With Tuesday's results, Ouachita is now 11-3 overall and 2-0 in GAC matches. Eight of the 11 wins have come away from home.
Ouachita rolled to a straight-sets victory over UAM on Tuesday night by final scores of 25-9, 25-8, and 25-11.
The Tigers outpaced the Blossoms in every key statistical category, piling up 42 kills to 11 and converting at a .284 attack percentage compared to UAM's –.021. Ouachita also held a dominant serving margin with 11 aces to none and outdug its opponent 66 to 38.
Individually,
Emily Adams had a match-high nine kills and added two blocks.
Kailey Thedford added eight kills, while
Sophie Henry chipped in with six.
Courtney Hanson served up match-highs in aces (four) and assists (25), while also adding 10 kills for a double-double.
Reigning GAC defensive player of the week
Kylie Kisgen had a match-high 18 digs and added three aces.
Savannah Whitaker added 10 digs and also had three aces.
Riley Braziel also reached double-digits in digs with 10 with four kills added to her final numbers.
The Tigers are back in action on Thursday, September 25 at home in a GAC matchup against Harding. First serve is set for 6 p.m. at the Sturgis Physical Education Center.
