Harding is ranked No. 2 in the nation, both by the American Football Coaches Association and D2Football.com. The Bisons are 3-0 following its most recent game, a 31-12 road win over Southern Arkansas this past Saturday.
This is the 66th all-time meeting between the Tigers and Bisons in football. Harding holds the all-time lead at 34-27-4. Last year, Ouachita snapped a 25-game winning streak for Harding with a 17-13 victory at home over the then-ranked No. 1 Bisons. Since the turn of the century, 14 of the 23 meetings have been decided by one score, with eight of those games decided by three points or less.
Saturday's contest is one of three trophy games for the Tigers during the regular season. The Ouachita-Harding Traveling Trophy has seen its fair share of trips between Arkadelphia and Searcy with neither team winning more than two in a row this century. The other trophy games for the Tigers are the Paul Sharp Cup against Southwestern Oklahoma State and the Battle of the Ravine against Henderson State.
