ARKADELPHIA, Arkansas – The Ouachita Baptist women's soccer team remained undefeated in Great American Conference play, improving to 3-0-2 with a 1-0 victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State on Saturday morning.
The contest proved to be a defensive battle, as the teams were deadlocked at 0-0 going into halftime.
Just three minutes into the second half,
Isabella Savattere passed a ball to
Kaylee McKinley right in front of the net who sent a header past the Northwestern Oklahoma goalkeeper, giving the Tigers the 1-0 lead.
The lone goal proved to be enough to secure the Tiger's third conference win of the season and remain undefeated in GAC play.
Ouachita's solid defense held the Rangers to 11 shots total and just two shots on goal. The Tigers outshot the Rangers 20-11 and 8-2 in shots on goal.
Dominique Klujian recorded two saves en route to her third shutout of the season. Five Tigers recorded at least three shots: McKinley tallied four, while Savattere,
Savannah Meyers,
Lily Ahlers, and
McKenna Wright chipped in three shots each.
The Tigers face Harding on Wednesday, October 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m. in Searcy.
