RUSSELLVILLE, Arkansas – Following the best performance by a Ouachita running back in more than four years, Chris Henley, Jr. has been selected as the Great American Conference Offensive Player of the Week.

The Ouachita offensive line paved the way for Henley, Jr. to rush for 222 yards on 23 carries for an average of 9.7 yards per carry in this past Saturday's 31-24 road victory over Northwestern Oklahoma State. It was Ouachita's fifth consecutive win of the season and improved the Tigers to 5-0 in road games this year and 7-2 overall.

Henley's rushing total was the most by a Tiger since current running backs coach TJ Cole rushed for 232 yards against Arkansas-Monticello on October 15, 2022.

Henley and the Tigers are back in action this Saturday, November 7 at home against Southwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Cliff Harris Stadium.

For the third consecutive week, the Tigers are receiving votes in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 Poll. D2Football.com has ranked the Tigers No. 25 in this week's poll. In the NCAA's new NPI index, the Tigers are ranked No. 30 nationally and No. 11 in Super Region 4.
