ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's basketball team made the short trip across the street to take on rival Henderson State on Thursday night, resulting in a 66-58 loss on the Reddies' home court.
The Tigers (12-9, 9-8 GAC) got off to a slow start with just one point in the first seven minutes. However, a second-period rally left Ouachita with an eight-point lead of 32-24 at the halftime break.
The script flipped in the third period with the Reddies (13-8, 9-8 GAC) out-scoring the Tigers 19-11 in the frame to even up the score at 43-all heading into the final period. HSU had its best offensive performance of the game in the fourth with 23 points, while the Tigers were unable to keep pace.
Abbey Harrison led the Tigers with 17 points.
Madeleine Tipton added 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.
Brooke Smith finished with nine points and five boards.
The Tigers look to bounce back this Saturday at home against Arkasas Tech. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. at Bill Vining Arena.
