ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita women's tennis team opened the spring 2026 season this weekend at home with a 4-3 loss to Arkansas-Fort Smith on Friday and a 7-0 win over Christian Brothers on Saturday.
Against UAFS, the Tigers were led by singles victories from
Marlee Bledsoe in a tiebreaker at No. 4 and a commanding win from
Jaelyn Walker at No. 5.
On Saturday, had runaway wins in doubles and No. 1 and No. 2. Walker and Bledsoe won 6-1 on court one.
Natalia Zamora Caprirolo and
Alice Kubler blanked their CBU counterparts 6-0 on court two. In singles against the Bucs, Walker shutout her CBU opponent on court three, Kubler cruised on court two, and
Anastasia Myachina won in three sets on court one. Bledsoe,
Jenny Pfaefflin, and
Karli Gay all earned singles win by default.
The Tigers head to Edmond, Oklahoma next weekend to take on Central Oklahoma, Southwest Baptist, and Angelo State.
