SEAGO WRAPS JUNIOR SEASON AT NCAA DII NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Ouachita heavyweight BK Seago completed his junior campaign Friday at the 2026 NCAA Division II Wrestling National Championships, finishing with a 16-7 overall record.

Seago opened the tournament with a tough match against returning All-American and No. 3 seed Zach Glazier of St. Cloud State. Seago battled for seven minutes, but Glazier controlled the match to earn a 17-2 technical fall in the opening round.

After dropping into the 285-pound consolation bracket, Seago was determined to attack with more aggression in his second bout against Wisconsin-Parkside redshirt-freshman Cooper Caraway. Seago struck first with a takedown in the opening period, then scored a reversal in the second period to build a 5-1 lead midway through the match. Caraway rallied in the third period and leveled the score at 5-5 before eventually breaking through with the decisive takedown to earn a 10-5 decision and eliminate Seago from the tournament.

Seago's first national appearance capped an impressive postseason run. Two weeks earlier, he won four consecutive matches at the regional tournament to punch his ticket to the national championships in Sioux Falls. The Owosso, Okla. native also led the Tigers during the season with nine wins in 11 dual matches.

Seago becomes the latest wrestler to reach the national stage and stamped the fourth consecutive season Ouachita has delivered a national qualifier. He joins former Ouachita All-Americans Jimmy Anderson (133 lb) and Johnny Green (285 lb) among the program's most recent representatives at the NCAA Division II Wrestling Championships.
