ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita Baptist University football team is set for its second straight road game when it travels to Russellville this Saturday for a primetime matchup against Arkansas Tech University.

Kickoff was originally scheduled for 6 p.m., but due to heat concerns, university officials have moved everything back one hour with the game now set for a 7 p.m. start at Simmons Bank Field at Thone Stadium on the ATU campus.

Ouachita is 1-1 to start 2026 after falling to East Central at home in week one 27-17 and then picking up a 23-17 road win over Southeastern Oklahoma State this past Saturday.

Tech is 2-0 with both wins coming by a one-score difference. The Wonder Boys defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State at home in week one 26-20 and most recently took down Northwestern Oklahoma State on the road last Saturday by a final score of 34-29.

The Tigers and Wonder Boys are set for their 90th meeting in football, which represents the second-most played opponent for Ouachita all-time, second only to cross-street rival Henderson State with 98 installments of the Battle of the Ravine. Ouachita has won 11 of the last 14 matchups against the Wonder Boys, including a seven-game win streak from 2017-24 to bring the series standings much closer at 45-37-7 in favor of ATU.
