ARKADELPHIA – Ouachita men's soccer fell 3-1 to Dallas Baptist on Saturday afternoon at Kluck Field.
Dallas Baptist opened the game with a successful penalty kick after an OBU foul in its own box, taking an early 1-0 lead just two minutes into the contest.
Despite the early deficit, the Tiger defense held the Patriots to just one shot in the first half. Ouachita recorded nine shots, one on goal, in its offensive attack. Dallas Baptist took a 1-0 advantage into the half.
In the 64
th minute, the Patriots executed on another penalty kick, and later scored another goal six minutes later, extending its lead to 3-0.
Ouachita's lone goal came in the 84th minute on a corner kick by
Ryan Armijo that found teammate
Jaan Meincke for a header into the net.
Ouachita owned the advantage in shots, 16-7, while each team recorded four shots on goal.
The Tigers hit the road for a match with Hendrix on Wednesday, Sept. 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Conway, Ark.
