ARKADELPHIA – The Ouachita volleyball team earned its third straight win and second straight sweep on Saturday night with a convincing victory over Union in the finale of the Reddie-Tiger Challenge.
Set scores were 25-14, 25-18, and 25-13 in favor of the Tigers to even the team's season record at 4-4 heading into its Great American Conference opener on Tuesday night at home against Southern Arkansas.
The Tigers had production from all 14 players that saw the court on Saturday night against Union, including standout performances from freshmen
Ruby Farris and
Kylie Craven. Farris led the match with eight kills. Craven played only one set and totaled seven kills on nine swings, including four kills in Ouachita's 10-0 start to the third frame.
Mack Bidwell had four straight service aces during that rally.
Kailey Thedford also had seven kills in the win. Bidwell finished with 36 assists and a final total of five aces.
Kylie Kisgen led the back row with 15 digs. Bidwell and
Delaney Gonzalez each added six digs.
Tuesday night's GAC opener against SAU is set for a 6 p.m. start at the Sturgis Physical Education Center.
