Brett Shockley is entering his 20th season as Offensive Line / Tight Ends Coach & his 18th as Recruiting Coordinator.

During Ouachita's seventh GAC championship season in 2024, Shockley coached two All-GAC selections, including Dylan Horton, who went on to earn All-America honors, and Isaiah Simpson, who was named the GAC Freshman of the Year.

In 2023, the Tiger offensive line helped Ouachita average 39.8 points per game, which ranked second in the GAC. The front line also helped the Tigers produce the conference's second leading rusher. Four from Shockley's 2023 squad earned All-GAC honors; Zac Henson, Dylan Horton, Nate Turner, and Garrison Jackson.

During the 2022 campaign, Ouachita’s offensive front paved the way for an offense that averaged 42.6 points per game, which was second in the nation in Division II, and rushed for 3382 yards for the season. The Tigers averaged 6.2 yards per carry, which put them at 4th in the nation in rushing to help them earn their sixth Great American Conference title. Shockley's 2022 squad produced two All-Americans, three all-region selections and five All-GAC selections in Peyton Stafford, Anthony Chariez, Zac Henson, Hunter Jackson, and Hunter Swoboda.

Shockley’s units are known for dominating the line of scrimmage, having paved the way for nine 1,000-yard rushers and have averaged over 250 rushing yards per game since 2008. The Tiger front five has done equally well keeping the quarterbacks upright as they have averaged allowing only .90 sacks per game since 2008. The 2009 unit led all of NCAA with only 4 sacks allowed that season.

Shockley has been privileged to coach many great offensive linemen and tight ends during his time at Ouachita. In 16 seasons he has had 49 All-Conference selections, 17 All-Region and 11 All-Americans. Four of his former players have gone on to play at the professional level, with Phillip Supernaw having the longest tenure at eight years in the NFL.

During Shockley's 17 years as Recruiting Coordinator, Ouachita has been dominant in recruiting high school athletes. The recruiting philosophy has paid off as Ouachita is the only university in the state with 16 straight winning seasons. The Tigers love to get high school athletes as freshmen and grow them in the program. Their main recruiting areas are Arkansas, East Texas, North Louisiana, West Tennessee, and Eastern Oklahoma.

Shockley is a 2001 graduate of the University of Arkansas where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Agriculture Marketing. While there, he was a three-year letterman playing offensive line for the Razorbacks.  He participated in the 1999 Citrus, 2000 Cotton, & 2000 Vegas Bowl Games.

He and his wife Leigh Anne have been married for 16 years. They have two children, Madison and Will.
