Dakota "Flash" Wilson was named Ouachita's Director of Athletic Performance in June of 2024 after nearly a decade working with the Tiger football team in different roles.
Wilson came to Ouachita as an offensive lineman, lettering two seasons in 2014 and 2015, and then moved into an operations role in 2016. For the five years prior to being promoted to Director of Athletic Performance, he was the football team's strength and conditioning coach as well as operations coordinator.Â
The foundation for the new role as Director of Athletic Performance had already been laid with Wilson assisting other teams on campus during the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons. Now, working with all 18 of Ouachita's NCAA Division II teams, he and his staff will work with 500-plus student-athletes in strength and conditioning, nutrition, and other areas to maximize results on the field, court, track, mat, or in the pool.
Wilson is originally from Sherwood, Arkansas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Ouachita in 2018 and later earned a master’s certificate from Southern Arkansas in 2022. He is a NSCA-certified strength and conditioning specialist, and also holds certifications in reflexive performance and mental conditioning and leadership.
