Jake Ford is entering his first season as the Assistant Coach / Special Teams and Specialist Coach. Ford returns to Arkadelphia after spending time playing for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Ford played for the Tigers from 2018-2019 as the Punter and was an integral part of the two GAC Championships Ouachita won in that time as well as the program's first playoff victory in 2018. Ford was voted a team captain for the 2019 season. During the 2018 season, Ford led all of Division II in Net Punting.
Ford is an Alumni of ProKick Australia. Prior to coming to Ouachita, he played Professional Australian Football from 2010-2011. Ford then served as a Sports Scientist for AFL Victoria from 2014-2016. Also in 2016, Ford made his way to the US and spent a season playing for the Oregon Ducks.
After Ouachita, Ford was the #1 overall pick of the 2021 CFL Global Draft.
Jake is married to his wife, Andrea, who is a registered nurse... The two have a 2-month-old daughter, Charlotte... Ford is currently pursuing his Master of Arts in Teaching from SAU.
