Season's Coached: First Season
Kane Bryen is entering his first season at Ouachita Baptist as the defensive line coach. This will mark Bryen’s second stint with the Tigers after spending a season at Blinn Junior College as the offensive line coach.
While at Blinn, coach Bryen helped the offense average 454 yards per game and he helped guide the offense to a top-five national ranking in total offense. Bryen also helped Blinn to its first Bowl game in four years.
In his first stint at Ouachita Bryen was a graduate assistant coach for the Tigers between 2014-2017. While at Ouachita, Bryen worked with a running backs unit that set school records. Bryen was a member of the 2014 coaching staff that led Ouachita to a perfect 10-0 record and a 2014 Great American Conference Championship. During the 2014 season, the running backs unit amassed 2,852 yards rushing in a season and averaged 237 yards per game. Bryen also coached the single season touchdown rushing record in 2014 and the national freshman of the year in 2015.
Bryen played at fellow Great American Conference affiliate Southwestern Oklahoma State University. The former right tackle started 41 consecutive games for the Bulldogs.
Bryen has been married to his wife Deitra for seven years now and the couple just welcomed their first child Beau in May of 2018.
