Marc Guerrero enters his third season on staff with the Ouachita football program. During the GAC championship season in 2024, Guerrero coached All-American safety Josiah Johnson, who went on to earn the Cliff Harris Award as the best defensive player at the NCAA Division II level. Johnson was also selected as the GAC Defensive Player of the Year. Guerrero coached three other All-GAC selections in 2024.
In his first season with Ouachita, the Tiger secondary saw a large improvement by allowing an average of 40 less passing yards per game compared to 2022. Safety Josiah Johnson was named an All-American by the Associated Press for the 2023 season and marked Ouachita's first defensive All-America honoree since 2018. Johnson also earned All-Region honors at the safety position. Three Tiger defensive backs earned All-Great American Conference honors for the 2023 season.
Guerrero spent his college football career at Trine Univeristy in Angola, Indiana. The Merrillville, Indiana native played all four years with the Thunder, totaling 84 tackles and four interceptions.
