Proffitt played collegiately at the University of Central Arkansas where she was a 3-time All Southland Conference Team member, and she was a key player in the team’s back to back NCAA Tournament appearances.
 
As a Bear she appeared in 124 games, making 116 starts, fourth most in program history, while ranking seventh all time in scoring with 1,646 points. She averaged 13.3 points per game during her four years connecting on 262 three pointers (second most in program history and fourth most in Southland Conference history).
 
The Columbus, Mississippi native earned first team All-Southland Conference honors as a junior and a senior, while also being named the MVP of the Southland Conference Tournament as a senior. Upon graduation, Proffitt played professionally for the Bender Baskets Grunberg in Germany where she averaged 15.9 points and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 38.6% from the three point line.
 
Maggie received her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology and has worked the past year as a graduate assistant at Louisiana Tech working towards her Masters in Sports Administration.
