After a few seasons coaching at the club level, O’Banion returns to the Natural State where she played collegiately at Southern Arkansas.

Of the 481 sets that Southern Arkansas has played since O'Banion's freshman year of 2014, the three-time All-GAC performer played in 470 of those sets making 107 starts in 126 matches played and finished her career with 34 double-figure kill matches and 56 matches with at least 3.0 total blocks. In her final season, O'Banion became the eighth player in GAC Volleyball history with 1,000 or more career kills and the seventh with 300 or more career blocks. As a Lady Mulerider, the Dos Palos, California, native became the fourth player with 1,000 or more kills in the Rally Scoring Era, the third player with 300 or more total blocks and just one of two players to reach both milestones.
 
O’Banion’s father (Greg O’Banion) played offensive line at Utah State University, and her younger brother Wyatt is currently an offensive lineman on the Colorado Mesa football team.
