Kevin Crutchmer enters his sixth season as the head coach of the Ouachita wrestling program in 2022-23 after being the named the Super Region Coach of the Year in 2021-22. He was named Ouachita's head coach on July 17, 2017 following nearly a decade as the head wrestling coach at Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
During his tenure at Class 6A Union, Coach Crutchmer compiled a dual record of 107-24. His teams produced 13 state champions, 35 state placers, 15 nationally ranked wrestlers and three Tulsa World Wrestlers of the Year. Under coach Crutchmer's guidance, Union High School won the Oklahoma 6A Traditional Tournament State Championship in 2008 and finished as runner-ups from 2009-2011. His team also won the Oklahoma Dual state championship in 2011.
Coach Crutchmer also has extensive experience with USA Wrestling with stints on the national committee, the executive council, and a period serving as the state chairman in Oklahoma.
He graduated from Northeastern State University in 1997 with a bachelor of science in Criminal Justice/Administration and served for eight years as a patrolman in Grove, Okla. Â He and his wife, Tina, have four children, Kyle, Brian, Kayla, and Justin.
