CONWAY- It was a strong performance in clutch moments for Ouachita Baptist, as the Tigers took down Bacone College in a wrestling matchup held in Conway on Tuesday.
Ouachita produced six victories, including three by major decision, a win by near fall and win by termination over Bacone.
Among the highlights included freshman
Brantley Pyle's win by fall at the 4:35 mark over Christian Hernandez in the 135-pound weight class.
In the 165-pound weight class, freshman
Jake Simpson easily defeated Guadalupe Sillas, 17-2 at the 7 minute mark for a win by termination. Freshman
Seth Hutchison gave Ouachita similar results with a 15-6 win by major decision over Micah Mackey in the 125-pound weight class.
The heavier weight classes also provided strong results for the Tigers, as freshman
CJ Hays produced a win by major decision at 11-3 over Richard Hughes in the 184-pound weight class, while junior teammate
Aaron Butler won 10-5 over Lee Laxton at the 174-pound weight class.
Junior
Gabe Musser provided the only shutout of the evening with an 8-0 major decision over Nathan Lemings.
Ouachita Baptist returns to action on Dec. 12 in the Jet Invitational in Wichita, Kansas.
