Volleyball Moves to 11-9 After Oklahoma Roadtrip

ARKADELPHIA, AR- The Ouachita Volleyball squad (11-9, 2-4 GAC) traveled to Oklahoma this weekend for two conference match-ups. Their first match took place on Friday against Southwestern Oklahoma State in Weatherford, Oklahoma, followed by another match on Saturday in Ada, Oklahoma with East Central University.

The Lady Tigers defeated Southwestern Oklahoma in five sets, collecting their second GAC victory of the season and moving to 11-8 going into Saturday's match-up. They were led by junior Megan Askew, who finished with 16 kills in the match, as well as senior Libby Harrington, who added 15 kills of her own. Junior Allison Frizzell collected 27 digs, while senior Lexie Hegi added 50 assists.

The match on Saturday didn't go as favorably for the Lady Tigers, as they fell to East Central in five sets. Harrington again helped the Lady Tigers immensely, collecting 18 kills in the match-up, followed by 16 kills from sophomore Kelsi Bodine. Frizzell collected 23 digs and Hegi racked up 55 assists, but it was not enough to push the Lady Tigers over the top, as they fell 3-2 in the match.

The Lady Tigers return to action on Tuesday, when they host Southern Arkansas at 6:30 p.m.
