Box Score ARKADELPHIA, AR- The Ouachita Tigers (3-0) hosted former conference foe Delta State (1-1) marking what was sure to be a tough match-up with one of the more athletic teams that the Tigers will see all season. The Tigers showed that they had the potential to be great though, laying down the law at home with an 88-59 victory over the Statesmen.

Austin Mitchell had another spectacular shooting performance, scoring 27 points while making nine of his 15 attempted shots. He also added three assists and two steals while only turning the ball over once during the game. Junior
Michael Morris continued to dazzle the fans with his acrobatic play, including a couple of dunks, while racking up 15 points and eight rebounds in the game, including a seven of 10 performance from the free throw line. Senior
Emmanuel Engulu finished with 12 points of his own, also adding five rebounds, an assist and a steal while junior
Nigel Ramsey and sophomore
Eric Braeuer both added 10 points to the Tigers total. Junior
Julian LaDay didn't do a lot of scoring, but collected a team high nine assists in the game.
Delta State was led by Cornell Knight, who recorded 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists in the contest. Also notable was Terry Leake, who finished with 11 points and six rebounds for the Statesmen.
The Tigers controlled the game from the get-go and went into halftime with a 42-25 lead after forcing the Statesmen to turn the ball over 13 times while only turning it over once. The Tigers finished even in the rebound category with Delta, both teams recording 34. The difference in the game was the final turnover margin, as Delta turned the ball over a total of 23 times while the Tigers only turned the ball over 10 times. The Tigers posted a 46 point second half, while Delta put up 34 points in the second half.
The Tigers shot 48.4 percent from the floor while Delta shot 43.8 percent for the game.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday November 26, when they travel to Cleveland, Mississippi for another game against Delta State and a chance to move to 4-0 on the season. Tip-off for that game is scheduled for 6 p.m.
