Box Score 3 ARKADELPHIA, AR- The Ouachita Lady Tigers (2-2) participated in three games during Thanksgiving week, including a road game against Texas A&M-Commerce and two games at the UAM Hampton Inn Classic in Monticello, Arkansas against the University of Central Oklahoma and the University of New Orleans. The Lady Tigers took it to A&M-Commerce on Tuesday, taking that game by a final score of 89-67 before suffering a loss on Friday to Central Oklahoma by a score of 76-58. Ouachita rebounded on Saturday though, coming back and taking a game from former NCAA Division I Member University of New Orleans, who just transferred to Division II this season, by a final score of 78-43.
In their game against Texas A&M-Commerce, the Lady Tigers were led by senior
A'Laeshia Adams, who finished with 16 points, five assists, five rebounds and four steals. Fellow senior
Domino Miller added 14 points of her own, as well as two assists, a steal and a rebound. Junior
Breana Dillard finished the game with 10 points and four rebounds and senior
Sarah Pugh and sophomore
Nashia James both finished with eight points of their own. The Lady Tigers downed A&M-Commerce by a score of 89-67, forcing the Lady Lions into 30 turnovers while only turning the ball over 16 times.
The Lady Tigers had a rough outing on Friday, falling to Central Oklahoma. The Lady Tigers were hurt by their poor shooting performance, as they only hit 33 percent of the shots that they took during the game. The real story of the game was the rebound category, as Ouachita was outrebounded 57-30 in the contest. Senior
Tamara Robinson led the team, collecting 12 points in the game while adding five rebounds, two steals and two blocks. Senior
Beulah Osueke added 11 points to the Lady Tigers totals, also adding seven rebounds and three steals. James added 11 points of her own, also recording two assists.
After their loss on Friday, the Lady Tigers came back on Saturday and made a statement, throttling the University of New Orleans by a final score of 78-43. The Lady Tigers owned every aspect of the game, including the rebound category, which they won 52-27. Ouachita was led by Miller, who finished with 17 points, a rebound and an assist. James was again a leading scorer for Ouachita, recording 13 points in the contest to go with her six rebounds, two assists and a steal. Sophomore
Erica Sharp had her first double digit scoring game of the season, finishing with 10 points, also adding six rebounds.
The Lady Tigers return to the hardwood on Friday, December 2, when they travel across the street to participate in the HSU Classic against UT-Permian Basin. That game will tip-off at 5 p.m.
