Shanghai, China - Ouachita sophomore All-American Tim Ferris from Zimbabwe was selected to represent his native country at the 14th FINA World Swimming Championships in Shanghai, July 24-31.
Tim is no stranger to elite international competition. In addition to representing OBU at the Collegiate National level, Tim has spent a majority of his swimming career training and competing against some of the best swimmers in the world on the international circuit. This past December he blazed to best times and top performances at the Short Course FINA World Swimming Championships in Dubai.
“Tim and I were on the phone minutes after the announcement talking about our plan from now until competition. Tim's dedication, training and performances speak for themselves. He is a goal-driven student-athlete. When he sets his mind on a goal or task, he will do what it takes to attain it,” states Coach Ryan Killackey. In addition to his collegiate/international swimming success, Tim is an Academic All-American with a 4.0 GPA.
