Box Score WALNUT RIDGE, Ark.-The Ouachita Tigers (7-3) took a win at home on December 17 over the Williams Baptist Eagles. On Monday, they traveled to Walnut Ridge and looked to do the same. Although the Eagles had other intentions, the Tigers again took it to the Eagles, taking a 86-72 victory and ending non-conference play with a victory.
The Tigers were led by junior
Austin Mitchell, who finished with 19 points and four rebounds. Mitchell had an impressive day from the floor, making five of his seven shot attempts. Junior
Julian LaDay added 15 points as well, also adding two rebounds and three assists. Sophomore
Eric Braeuer finished with 10 points, three rebounds and a team high five assists. Senior
Emmanuel Engulu and junior
Michael Morris both grabbed a team high seven rebounds while LaDay, Braeuer and junior
Nigel Ramsey all recorded two steals.
The Eagles rode the shoulders of Kyle Harvey. Harvey recorded 26 points in the game while also adding six rebounds and two assists. Chase Norwood added 14 points to the cause while Zabian Sanders also added 13 of his own. Wes Livingston recorded a team high seven rebounds while Logan Chappell recorded a team high four assists.
The Tigers turned the ball over 18 times but forced WBC to turn it over 21 times. The Tigers handled the Eagles on the boards, recording 41 rebounds to the Eagles 28. The Tigers had an impressive game from the floor, draining 53.3 percent of their shots from behind the three point line.
The Tigers return to the hardwood on Thursday, when they host East Central University for their first Great American Conference contest. That game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
