Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark.- It was a great Friday afternoon for the Ouachita (6-6) men's soccer team this week, as they captured a 5-1 victory over the Bisons of Harding University (4-6-2). Ouachita scored two goals in the first half and three in the second to take the victory.
Payam Pourjavad scored his first of two goals to kick off the game, scoring at the 27 minute mark off of a pass from
Taylor Christian.
Pourjavad didn't take long to score again, as he gave the Tigers a 2-0 advantage and a little bit of breathing room with a goal at the 37 minute mark. This time his goal was assisted by
John Vasquez and
AJ Bauckman.
Ouachita's 2-0 advantage would hold until halftime. Following the beginning of the second half, Harding was able to get on the board. Ryan Wilhelm scored the only goal for the Bisons, scoring at the 63 minute mark.
Rizvan Ceka would answer the Wilhelm goal though, scoring the third goal of the day for Ouachita at the 64 minute mark with an assist from Pourjavad.
Ouachita's offensive onslaught continued late in the game, with
Bry Goss coming in and scoring a goal at the 80 minute mark, followed by another goal for the Tigers at the 85 minute mark by
Clayton Case.
Ouachita will travel to Cleveland, Mississippi on Sunday for a match-up with the Statesmen of Delta State. That game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.
