Box Score 1 | Box Score 2
JACKSON, Ten.- The Ouachita Tigers men's soccer team had their first regular season action under new head coach Kevin Wright this weekend, taking on Union University and Milligan College in Jackson, Tennessee. The Tigers took a tough loss in their first game, falling to Union by a score of 2-0 on Friday, but bounced back on Saturday with a 2-1 overtime victory over Milligan.

In their loss to Union, the Tigers had nine shot opportunities, five of which were on goal. Wayne Smith took on goalkeeping duties for Ouachita, recording three saves in the match-up. Sean Crisco had three of the Tigers' shots on goal, coming in off of the bench and playing a solid game. AJ Bauckman and Nathan Gay had the other two shots on goal for the Tiger offense. Diego Santos and Guilherme Reis had the goals for Union, one coming in each half. Both teams created three corner kick opportunities in the game, while Union was called for seven fouls, as compared to Ouachita's five.

As previously mentioned, the Tigers took a thrilling overtime victory on Saturday, when JT Goodrum scored at the 97 minute mark to send the Tigers home with a win. Ouachita's Jared Carlin started the game off quickly, scoring in just the third minute, but Milligan's Pete Waller found a hole in the defense and capitalized with just nine seconds remaining in the game. David Henley took on goalkeeping duties against Milligan, recording nine saves in the contest. Goodrum led the team with two shots, both of which were on goal. Both teams finished the game with a total of six foul calls, while Milligan took 12 corner kicks, holding Ouachita to five. Milligan took 20 shots in the game, with Ouachita only taking 13, but Henley was too good, holding off the Milligan attack with the help of his defense.

Ouachita returns to the field on September 4, when they host Lyon College. That game is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
