Box Score RUSSELLVILLE, Ark.- The Ouachita Lady Tigers (4-11, 1-3 GAC), who didn't actually begin their contest with Arkansas Tech (11-5, 3-1 GAC) until almost an hour after the original start time due to traffic, had a tough outing on Tuesday night. Ouachita dropped their match-up with the Golden Suns in just three sets, two of which were painfully close.
Ouachita dropped the first set by a score of 25-18 and the third set by a score of 25-19, coming awfully close to extending the match. The Lady Tigers were hampered by errors though, as they committed 21 in the game.
Megan Askew finished the game with six kills, while
Abby Pickett added five for Ouachita. On defense,
Allison Frizzell was a force to be reckoned with, as she finished with 15 digs.
Tech's duo of Stephanie Channell and Brittany Ryan were too much for the Lady Tigers to handle in the contest, as they posted 12 and 10 kills respectively. On a positive note, the Lady Tigers forced Tech into 17 errors of their own, but it wasn't quite enough to sway the result of the game.
Other notable performances for the Lady Tigers include 10 assists from both
Savannah White and
Sara Mitchell.
Ouachita will look to rebound on Friday, when they take on Southern Nazarene in Bethany, Oklahoma. That game is scheduled for a 5 p.m. start.
