Nashia James recorded game highs with 19 points and 9 rebounds and freshman post player
Katie Kapler shot 6-7 from the field and 5-6 from the free-throw line to score a season high 17 points in the Lady Tigers 82-52 win over the Lady Toppers of Blue Mountain College. It was the second win in four games for 2-8 Ouachita Baptist.
The Lady Tigers were sluggish coming out of the gate at tipoff. Both teams struggled in finding an offensive rhythm early in the first half.  With 7:40 left in the first half, Ouachita found themselves down 18-17.
Allie Brown, playing in her first game since November, hit a big three-pointer to put the Lady Tigers up for good, 20-17. The Tigers would hold momentum for the remainder of the first period, outscoring the Lady Toppers 16-6 in the final seven minutes.
Ouachita shot 58.1% from the floor in the second half. James scored 10 of her 19 points in the second half, including shooting 2-3 from beyond the three-point arc. Freshman
Joy Okeke was a spark of the bench on both sides of the court in the second half, scoring seven points and pulling down three boards. She finished the game with a season high nine points.
The Lady Tigers return to conference play this Thursday when they travel to Russellville to take on Arkansas Tech. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 pm. Â Â Â
