Tigers Second-Half Comeback Not Enough To Beat Southern Nazarene

Box Score ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - The Ouachita Tigers men's basketball team outscored Southern Nazarene 47-37 in the second half, but it wasn't enough to erase a 13-point halftime defecit as the Tigers fell 72-68 in Bethany, Oklahoma. The Tigers are now 7-13 overall, 4-10 in Great American Conference play.

The Tigers went 8-29 in the first half, shooting a woeful 28% from the field. Allen Buchanan was the only Tiger to sink more than one shot before halftime. After shooting 1-5 in the first, he found his way to the basket with ease, going 10-13 from the floor in half number two.

Jerron Smith, who saw all his action in the second half, went 3-4 from the field scoring eight points and pulled down four boards, all offensive.

The Tigers got within three points with 1:57 left, but the Crimson Storm were able to seal the game at the free-throw line where they went 23-37 in the second half. Southern Nazarene had 46 free-throw attemtps to Ouachita's 17.

Colt Fason led all players with 25 points and 10 rebounds. It was Fason's eighth double-double this season.

Eric Braeuer, in his first game back after suffering a concussion, had eight points, six rebounds and four assists. Carven Holcombe pulled down six boards, two offensive.

The Tigers return home next Thursday, February 13, to take on Arkansas Tech. Tipoff is set for 7:30 pm.
