ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers rushed for 284 yards as a team and 
Kris Oliver scored two rushing touchdowns to help lead the Tigers to a 20-17 win over Arkansas-Monticello. The win improved Ouachita to 5-3 on the season.
The Tigers defense forced a Weevil three-and-out on their first possession. Taking over on their own 39 yard line, the Tigers' 
Austin Warford found an open 
Ke'Vontae Pope down the far side line for a 42-yard pass play down to the UAM eight yard line. 
Kris Oliver carried it in on a second and goal and the Tigers led 7-0 with 10:46 left in the first quarter.
The Weevils next drive stalled on their own 36, forcing them to punt. The Tigers moved the ball down to the UAM 13 yard line on 11 straight rushing plays. The drive ended on a third and 14 interception caught by UAM at their own two yard line.
Arkansas-Monticello were unable to capitalize on the turnover and punted on their third straight possession. Taking over on their own 18 yard line, Ouachita moved into Weevil territory on their first play of the drive. Oliver broke through the UAM line for a 60-yard scamper to the Weevil 22 yard line. The Tigers' 
Cole Antley connected on 37-yard field goal attempt to give Ouachita a 10-0 lead.
UAM answered on their next drive to pull within three. The Weevils went 67 yards on six plays, scoring on a one-yard touchdown run by Brett Courville with 6:19 remaining in the first half. After exchanging possessions, UAM had the ball on their own 14 yard line with 36 seconds remaining. UAM's Hunter Leppert threw an errant pass that was picked off at the UAM 46 by Brendan Young and returned to the UAM 22 yard line.
Antley's 40-yard field goal attempt with three seconds remaining in the half missed wide right and the game entered halftime leading UAM, 10-7.
Arkansas-Monticello scored first in the second half. The Weevils' Jaime McGhee connected on a 23-yard field to tie the game at 10-10 with 6:19 remaining in the third quarter.
Ouachita's 
Cole Antley answered the Weevils field goal with a 39-yarder on the Tigers next possession to regain the lead, 13-10. Arkansas-Monticello's Leppert threw his second interception of the game on the Weevil's next possession. This time he was picked off by 
Jordan Jones, who returned it back to the UAM 30 yard line. After a four-yard rush on first down, Oliver strolled into the end zone from 26 yards out for his second score, giving the Tigers a 20-10 lead.
Both teams were forced to punt on their next two possessions. UAM took over on their own 26 with 8:51 remaining. After Weevil quarterback Cole Sears completed a pass down the Ouachita one yard line, the Tigers defensive line held strong, forcing a fourth and goal attempt with 3:55 remaining in the game. Jeremy Jackson would just get across the goal line on a right-side sweep, and the Weevils trailed the Tigers by three, 20-17.
Ouachita started the final drive of the game on their own 26 yard line with 3:47 remaining. Oliver and Pope each rushed for first downs, with Pope getting the final first down on a three-yard end around to the UAM 41 yard line. The Tigers took a knee on the next play to end the game and get their fifth win of the season, 20-17.
Kris Oliver gained 125 yards on 16 carries and added two rushing touchdowns. He averaged 7.8 yards per carry. Donnelle Hoof gained 81 yards on 17 carries.
Ke'Vonate Pope caught two passes for 50 yards and rushed for 35 yards. He finished the game with 130 all-purpose yards.
Cole Antley made field goals of 37 and 39 yards.                                    
Jahlon Mitchell led the Tigers with eight tackles and added one tackle for loss.
Mike Williamson had five tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss.
Jordan Jones and 
Brenden Young each had an interception.
