Tigers win in OT thriller at Harding

SEARCY, Ark. - Tinashe Chigede scored his fourth goal of the season in the 109th minute to give the Ouachita Tigers a 2-1 win over Harding, Tuesday night in Searcy. The win improved the Tigers to 2-1 in the GAC and left them tied for first with Southern Nazarene.

Ouachita took an early 1-0 lead in the first period. Sewell Yost found an open Ryan Trayner on the left side of the box at just under the 20-minute mark and Trayner scored his second goal of the year. Ouachita held the one-goal lead going into the second period. Keeper Nelson Pacheco recorded four saves in the first half to protect Ouachita's lead.

Harding scored in the 54 minute mark to tie the game. Both teams pressed their offense in the second half with each recording 11 shots. Despite the flurry of shots, neither team could find the back of the net and the game headed to overtime, tied 1-1.

After a scoreless first overtime period, Tinashe Chigede corralled a failed clearance attempt by the Harding defense with under one minute remaining. HIs shot from the top of the box found the lower left corner of the Bisons net, to give Ouachita its second conference win of the season.
