Tigers improve to 7-3 with win over SNU

BETHANY, Okla. – Kris Oliver scored four rushing touchdowns and the defense limited their opponents to 193 total yards of offense to help the Ouachita Tigers (7-3) defeat Southern Nazarene University 58-7. The Tigers offense went 8-8 on red zone opportunities in the game.

Oliver increased his rushing touchdown total to 18, as he amassed 169 yards of total offense. He scored the first two touchdowns of the game on runs of 18 and two yards, The Tigers extended their first quarter lead to 21-0 on a 15-yard touchdown pass from Austin Warford to Evian Hill.

After a giving up a touchdown to Southern Nazarene in the second quarter, the Tigers scored on consecutive possessions on touchdown run by Ke'Vontae Pope and Oliver. Ouachita led 35-7 at the half.

Ouachita's defense held the Crimson Storm scoreless in the second half, allowing Southern Nazarene only 81 yards of total offense in the third and fourth quarters. Oliver scored his fourth rushing touchdown of the game at the end of the third quarter to give the Tigers a 48-7 lead.

Freshmen Trajan Doss and Drew Harris scored rushing touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Doss scored on one-yard run and Harris scored on a 41-yard run. It was the first career touchdown for both players. Cole Antley added a 40-yard field between the two scores.

Ouachita gained 320 rushing yards on 55 carries. As a team, they averaged 5.8 yards per carry. Ouachita finished with 519 yards of total offense.

AJ Burton led the Tigers with seven tackles and added an interception. Ernest Reed and Khairan Stafford each had one sack on defense.
