ARKADELPHIA, Ark. – The Ouachita Tigers dropped a non-conference match to the Texas Woman's University Pioneers on Thursday, falling by a score of 3-1.
The Pioneers (3-2-1) controlled the first 40 minutes, scoring goals in the 18
th and 24
th minutes. In the 41
st minute, however,
Marley Zochert scored her first career goal for the Tigers to pull Ouachita within one.
Morgan Allen picked up the assist on the goal.
Three minutes into the second half, Gabby Larson gave the Pioneers a 3-1 lead with a goal on a corner kick. Ouachita was unable to answer, despite seven shots in the half.
The Tigers (1-3) finished with 12 shots, while Texas Woman's attempted 18.
Lauren Llanes spent the first 53 minutes at keeper for Ouachita and recorded one save.
Katy Alexander finished the match in goal and added one more save.
Haley Hatcher took five shots for Ouachita, followed by Zochert with three and Allen with two. All three of Zochert's shots were on goal.
The Tigers are back in action on Saturday, Sept. 19, as Ouachita will travel to Clinton, Miss. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
